About me

I’m a specialist in English Literature with five years of teaching experience, ranging from non-native speakers to A-level students and adult learners. I hold a PGCE in Education and Training from the University of Portsmouth, an undergraduate degree in English, and a postgraduate degree in Philosophy, as well as a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults from Cambridge.

I currently teach at an Ofsted-rated Outstanding secondary school and sixth form, where I focus on developing students’ critical thinking so they become confident, independent advocates for their own learning and abilities.

My Approach

I believe English is more than just learning to analyse texts - it’s learning to think for yourself. My approach focuses on questioning, reflection, and clarity of expression so students not only improve their grades but grow in confidence as independent thinkers.
